Spinal Decompression TableYou are a candidate for spinal decompression if you have chronic or severe back pain caused by bulging or herniated discs, osteoarthritis, sciatica, and/or facet syndrome.

If you have been told to consider surgery, or have had a failed back surgery consider spinal decompression as a safe and effective alternative.

You are not a candidate if...

You are not a candidate for spinal decompression if you are pregnant, have a recent vertebral fracture, have surgical hardware in your spine, have severe osteoporosis, spinal infections, pelvic or abdominal cancer.

What can you expect?

A typical spinal decompression session lasts about 15 to 20 minutes.  At the beginning of each session you will be on your back fitted with a belt around your waist and a cushion underneath your legs. The procedure will not start until you are comfortable.

Dr. Banning will take a case history and take x-rays of your spine and/or view an MRI report of your spine. Dr. Banning will then determine a decompression protocol that will best work for your condition.

Once the decompression starts, either Dr. Banning or one of his staff members will make sure you are doing fine. At the end of the session you may notice a change as early as your first visit; most patients notice a positive change after their third or fourth visit.  Once we notice a nice change in your symptoms we can develop a treatment regimen that is specific for achieving results for your condition.
